Need help in generating OpenXML for VISIO OrgChart and consuming the same within win 8 app to display the chart

The xmlVisio seems to be a fantastic tool. I have issue running the tool.I get this error
"Unable to get the window handle for the 'AxDrawingControl' control. Windowless ActiveX controls are not supported"

How can we really generate Visio consumable open xml org chart file without using the VISIO interop assemblies in the server.

any pointers on this is much appreciated

Thanks & Regards,

for a start, v2013 is not an openxml implementation. Data Diagramming has not been submitted to the organization as a possible standard (at least the last time I checked). My intention when I wrote the pkgVisio solution was to demonstrate that a document could be built without using the Visio libraries. My recommendations remain that the optimum solution is to use the libraries and write to the API's. Where you can create a document without using the libraries, the requirement to create classes for each of the Visio Object Model components remains the responsibility of the solution developer. The pkgVisio project is missing a significant component in that I did not include Styles in the implementation (also Themes should be considered).

Much of the strength of the OrgChart solution is in the fact that when an OrgChart is displayed in a Visio client, a Visio add-in takes control of the formatting of the drawing. The Visio add-in is made aware that it should take control based on flags in the shapesheet of the individual shapes (a solution id is made available).
